A motor boat starting from rest on a lake accelerates in a straight line at a constant rate of 3.0 ms-2 for 8.0 s. How far does the boat travel during this time?

Here, 

u = 0 m/s

a = 3 ms-2 

t = 8 s 

Using, 

s = ut + ½ at2 

s = 0 × 8 + ½ × 3 × 8 2 = 96 m.
