An artificial is moving in a circular orbit of radius 42250 km. Calculate its speed if it takes 24 hrs to revolve around the earth.

Here, 

r = 42250 km = 42250000 m 

T = 24 h = 24 × 60 × 60 s 

Using                        Speed, v = 2πr ÷ T 

v               = (2 × 3.14 × 42250000) ÷ (24 × 60 × 60) m/s 

                = 3070.9 m/s = 3.07 km/s
