A block of wood in the shape of a cuboid has lenght = 2.5 m, breadth = 1.5 m and height = 2 m. How many cubical blocks, each of edge 50 cm can be cut from it?

Volume of the cuboid= 2.5m x 1.5m x 2m = 7.5m^3

Then volume of each small cube =50/100cm x 50/100cm x 50/100cm = 1/8m^3

Therefore number of cubes that can be cut= volume of cuboid/volume of each cube= 7.5 x 8 = 60

Thus, 60 cubes can be cut.
