Plants make their food through photosynthesis which require sun light, water and chlorophyll.Sun light is available at day time not at night. So plant do not make food at night.
But one thing which is very interesting if you provide certain wavelength of light which is required for photosynthesis at night the plant will start photosynthesis and make food.

Plants make food in their leaves. The leaves contain a pigment called chlorophyll, which colors the leaves green. Chlorophyll can make food the plant can use from carbon dioxide, water, nutrients, and energy from sunlight. This process is called photosynthesis.
