Visible light of the sun consists of seven colours-violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Out of these lights of different wavelengths, chlorophyll absorbs mainly blue, violet, red and orange Iights but does not absorb the green light. It is due to the reflection of green light by chlorophyll of the plants that the plants look green in colour.
