It is given that 

x = t2 +1 ...(1)

y = 2t + 1 ...(2)

From (1) and (2), we get

(y – 1)2 = 4 (x – 1) ...(3)

Let Y = y – 1 and  X = x – 1

Then from equation (3) we have

Y2 = 4X

Equation of the directrix for parabola Y2 = 4X is:

X = –1

x – 1 = –1

x = 0

This is the required equation of directrix.
