Project Tiger is a program launched by the Indian government to save tigers.It was launches in 1973 by the Government of India during Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's tenure.

Project Tiger is a government supported program which was launched in order to protect the tigers as their population was declining rapidly at that time due to human activities like hunting and poaching.
