Why is the amount of gas collected in one of the test tube double of the amount collected in the other in electrolysis of water experiment? Name this gas.

The reaction for electrolysis of water is as follows:

Thus, water decomposes to give hydrogen and oxygen in the ratio of 2 : 1 by volume. Hydrogen gas is present in one of the test tube which is of double volume than the other gas.
