The colour of copper sulphate solution is blue. When an iron nail is dipped in solution of copper sulphate, iron displaces copper. Ferrous sulphate and copper are formed due to displacement reaction. Colour of ferrous sulphate solution is green. Hence, the colour of copper sulphate solution changes when an iron nail is dipped in it.
