Solve the following quadratic equations by factorization:

(x-4)(x+2)=0

We have

(x-4)(x+2)=0

Either (x-4)=0 or (x+2)=0

x=4 or x=-2

Thus, x=4 and x=-2 are two roots of the equation (x-4)(x+2)=0
