(i) Spore formation takes place in Rhizopus. Rhizopus consists of fine thread like structures called hyphae. From horizontal hyphae (stolon) there develop small erect sporangiophore bearing terminal sporangia containing spores, which germinate into new Rhizopus.

(ii) Large number of spores are produced in each sporangium which can easily help the Rhizopus to spread.
