If there are two resistances in parallel i.e. R1 and R2 . Equivalent resistance R :

1/R=1/R+ 1/R2
Where R1 = 2Ω+ 2Ω = 4Ω
1/R=R2+ R1/R1 R2
Now R =R1 R2/R1 +R2
Resistance across A and B :
R =4*4/4+4=16/8 =2Ω
