SF4 molecule shows sp3d hybridisation but its expected trigonal bipyramidal geometry gets distorted due to presence of a lone pair of electrons and it becomes distorted tetrahedral or seesaw with the bond angles equal to 89° and 177° instead of the expected angles of 90° and 180° respectively. SiF4: sp3 hybridisation and tetrahedral geometry.
