Solution:

Let the velocity vectors be v1 = 20 m/s due North and v2 = 20 m/s due East.

   Change in velocity = v - v1

|v2­  - v1| = √{v1 2 + (-v2)2} = √{202 + 202} = 20√2 m/s

Now v2­  - v1 = 20√2 m/s due to south west
