1. 5x - 9y + 7x -y = 12x -10y
2. x2 - x - x/2 + 3/2 - 3x2/2 = -x2/2 -3x/2 +3/2
3. 7 - 2x + 5y - x + y - 5x - 3y + 7
= -8x + 3y + 14
4. y2/3 - 4y/7 + 5 - 2y/7 + 2y2/3 - 2 - y/7 + 3 - 2y2

= (1/3 + 2/3 - 2)y2 - (4/7 + 2/7 + 1/7)y + 6

= -y2 - y + 6
