In a straight line motion, the distance travelled is proportional to the square root of the time taken. The acceleration of the particle is proportional to:-

We know that 

distance x ∝ t½

velocity v = dx/dt ∝ ½ t−½,

acceleration a = dv/dt ∝ ½ (−½) t−3/2,

Therefore a ∝ v3.

Hence, the correct answer is (C)
