Solve the following system of equations graphically.

4x-y=7

x+3y=18  and
Find the area bounded by these lines and y axis.

Since the lines intersect at (3, 5)
∴ Given system of equation have a unique solution x = 3, y = 5

Area of triagle formed by the given lines and y-axis=1/2x13x3=39/2=19.5sq units.
